Membership Requirements: Members must complete the following steps each year to maintain Active status or to successfully complete Reinstatement:
- Pay Annual Dues
- Dues are $20 per year, $35 per couple, payable by January 1st of each year. A $1 processing fee is added if dues are paid online with a credit card making them $21 and $36 respectively.
- Dues may be paid directly to the Treasurer, submitted online on this website, or may be mailed to the following:

- Sign a Volunteer Agreement
- Must be accomplished every 3 years prior to completing the background check. (A copy can be read on the Forms page HERE)
- Maintain Current Background Check
- All CMG members must comply with the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service Background Check policy. Volunteer Master Gardeners and Intern/Students may NOT participate in CMG projects, committees or other CMG activities without having submitted an application for a background check. Members must maintain a current background check per the direction and guidelines from the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service. Only background checks conducted through Texas A&M, using approved processes and/or services, will be accepted. This also applies to those on Leave of Absence and Emeritus status who wish to participate in CMG projects, committees and activities. Members on Leave of Absence or in Emeritus status who have not submitted a background check may only attend or participate in events that are open to the general public.
- The background check expiration date can be found on the Volunteer Management System in a member’s profile. Members will be reminded by the Membership Chair, by email or by telephone, a minimum of three times in advance of the background expiration date that action is needed to maintain membership.
- The local agent of Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service will address matters related to non- compliance.
- An updated check is required every three years.
- Perform a Minimum of Twelve (20) Hours of Approved Volunteer Work

- Accrue a Minimum of Twelve (10) Hours of Continuing Education (CE)

- Online webinars are offered through Texas A&M Aggie-Horticulture provided through links from the weekly E-Minder emailed to members. Up to two (2) Continuing Education hours per year may be completed with online webinars.
- Attend the Business Portion of at Least Two General Meetings
